We recommend sealed mortar joints like in the example to the left. Water is the number 1 enemy of stacked stone structures. When the stone does not have a sealed mortar, water can seep behind the stones slowing washing away the concrete. Even worse during the winter time trapped water freezes and expands pushing the stones out of the hidden mortar

To combat this, we highly recommend stonework with sealed mortar. This process can be used with natural stone or man-made stone. The mortar not only protects the stones mounting but also allows for more color customization to fit your home or business design ideas.
